why bioplastic is just marketing gimmick?

What is come in our mind when we hear about bioplastic ? Yes,that it is bio friendly. But that not a true Bio plastic is not means bio friendly. " Bio plastic just means it made from bio based product " or " bio degradable in nature at controlled atmosphere " Bio based plastic: Bioplastic-or biopolymers-is distinct from conventional plastic because it is made from renewable plant feedstocks such as corn, cassava, sugar beet, or sugarcane and notpetrochemicals. Bioplastic includes polylactic acid (PLA), plant-derived polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyhydroxyal-kanoate (PHA), and can be mixtures of biopolymers, petro- chemical-derived plastic, and fibers. Bioplastic is not inherently biodegradable . while manufacturing this plastic gasoline based ethalene or propylene replaced with bio based products made from generally fermentation process.for example polylactive acid.this plastic have characteristics nearly same as general synthetic plastic.they not ...

The narrow approaches to assessing and addressing plastic impacts to date are inadequate and inappropriate.Understanding and responding to plastic risks, and making informed decisions in the face of those risks, demands a full lifecycle approach to assessing the full scope of the impacts of plastic on human health.
